The way in which Grand Prix Points are calculated has changed. The new system was adopted by the Chess SA Council at the online AGM held on Saturday 22 February 2025.
The new GPX system DOES NOT EFFECT players who have already qualified for the 2025 Junior Closed.
The qualification period for the 2026 Junior Closed will be 1 October 2024 to 31 December 2025. Thereafter the cycle will be based on a calendar year (1 January to 31 December).
